Assesment

Young people are often referred for psychometric assessments by schools, medical practitioners (paediatricians, GPs, psychiatrists) and parents to obtain a comprehensive understanding of a child’s specific needs to guide appropriate intervention and support strategies. Results are provided to parents in a detailed psychological report including tailored recommendations for parents and schools. Cara offers educational and developmental (psychometric) assessments for a range of presentations including:

  • Specific learning difficulties and disorders (e.g. Dyslexia)

  • Problems with attention and concentration/Attention-Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • Problems with memory

Therapy

We offer counselling and therapy for a range of challenges facing young people including:

  • Anxiety (including phobias, separation anxiety, social and generalised anxiety)

  • Difficulties coping with school including issues with bullying, friendships and learning

  • Grief and loss

  • Emotional regulation including difficulties with managing anger

  • Adjustment to parental separation/divorce
