Referrals

Your child may be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP; previously Mental Health Care Plan) under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative, which can be obtained by a GP or specialist doctor. This will cover a significant part of the cost of each session. Please bring your GP referral to your first session or email it us prior.

A referral from a doctor is only needed if you would like to access a Medicare rebate, you may self-refer if you would like to pay privately or if you are not eligible for Medicare.

If you do not meet criteria for a MHTP or choose to pay privately, you may be able to claim sessions through your private health insurer. Private insurance companies offer different rebates on psychological sessions so you are advised to contact your provider for further details.

Fees

Please contact the practice directly for counselling and psychometric assessment fees. Assessment fees vary depending on the nature of the referral.

We are committed to supporting as many young people in the community as possible. We therefore offer fees on a sliding scale for families currently experiencing financial hardship. This is based on individual circumstance and low-cost fees may only be available for a limited amount of sessions. Don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss this further.
